Default Margins for odd and even pages

I try to format a long MS Word 2000 document for printing and binding. The document is long (over 100 pages), and mainly contains tables flowing through pages. The table width is 6.5” and I try to set up the margins in File Setup Page as 0.7” symmetrical in both sides of the table. I checked the Mirror Margins, and considering that I want to bind the document, I said that I have to go with 0.5” Gutter size. The problem is that by the end, the odd and even pages are aligned differently, the tables are moved into one or the other side of their corresponding page, but not with the same distance with regard to the exterior or interior of the page. To solve that, I selected each table (Table Table Properties) and align it to the left if it was on an even page, and to the right if it was on an odd page. Now, the margins are equal with regard to the exterior or interior of the page, but I wonder what happens with the flowing tables along pages due to the fact that they go from an even page (align to the left) and flow into an odd page (then the table should be align to the right).

Is there any other solution simpler than this ? I think I miss something……

Many, many thanks for any help !

I posted this topic into the wrong section. But anyhow, for any person interested in finding the right answer, I found the answer to a very similar question under the “New User” section. That question and answers are posted under the subject name “ Setting page margins, allowing for binding” from 6/27/2004.
Thank you anyway.
