Need to suppress chart error message
Hello,
I have a workbook containing a chart with dynamic ranges and I would like to use the workbook as a template for my charting needs. This means that to use the workbook as a "standard template" (though not a literal Excel 'Template'), I would like to save the workbook without any data in the source ranges for the chart. However, each time I remove data from the source ranges, I get the familiar error: "Your formula contains an invalid external reference to a worksheet. Verify that the path, workbook, and range name or reference are correct, then try again." This goes away every time I load the ranges with the new data (for the particular series I am trying to chart). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to work around this error or to keep it from constantly popping up? Thanks, -Peter --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Need to suppress chart error message
Hi,
I don't think there's any way around what's happening - the error message is there for a reason (during normal operations); why not just put some very simple dummy information that you always easily replace. jeff -----Original Message----- Hello, I have a workbook containing a chart with dynamic ranges and I would like to use the workbook as a template for my charting needs. Need to suppress chart error message
Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your suggestion. I was hoping I could avoid that, but it looks like that might be the only option. -Pete --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |
