Default Setting Archives for Users

I am sure there are business that have encountered this scenario--we are
migrating from GroupWise to Exchange. In GroupWise set up, any user could
log onto any PC and have all their mail since they were connecting to the
online mailbox and their archive located on a shared drive.

The issue here is that the Exchange mailbox is limited to 100 MB per user.
This will fill up very quickly, and the users will need to move their mail
offline. The problem is that there are many users that check mail on many
PCs. If autoarchive is set up via Group Policy to archive locally, there
will be a problem with one user having many archives on different PCs.

Since the .pst file being located on a shared drive is not supported by MS,
the obvious path would be to have those users use the web access exclusively.
However, we have to adhere to the 100 MB mailbox size which is not
achievable by many users.

Any good suggestions?

The ideal solution would be a server-based archive application with a web interface. See http://www.slipstick.com/addins/housekeeping.htm#admin for possible solutions.
