Default Repeating Slide show with continuous music

I've experimented with different settings and even with Music Span From
Shyam Pillai, but didn't quite get the result I wanted, which is this:

Slide show should run from the beginning to the end and then repeat
indefinitely. At the start of the show, the Wav or Mp3 file should be
started too and then run continuously i.e. when the show returns to the
first slide, tho music should play on and not start from the beginning.

What are the settings for the show, Slide transitions etc. necessary to
achieve this?

I use PPT 2003.

TIA, Primoz

Hi,

The trick is to insert a Kick Off slide at the beginning of the slide show
to start your music. Next mark slide 2 through the last slide to be a custom
show with automated timing to advance slides. Make sure Slide 1 DOES NOT
have automated timing to advance slide. Set up the slide show to loop until
ESC using automated timings.

When you run the slide show, Slide 1 will start the music and you'll need to
click to go to Slide 2. From that point on, the presentation should loop
through Slide 2 to the Last Slide without resetting the music (unless you
have some other sound stop it between Slide 2 and the Last Slide).

Thanks Glenna for your prompt response.

I set up 5 slides in a presentation with slides 2 to 5 in a custom show.

I inserted audio file in two ways into slide 1. Either with Insert
Movies and sound etc.... or by specifying Slide Transition and setting
Sound field with an audio file.

The problem is how to start the slide show. If I setup show in Slide
Show menu as custom show it starts with slide 2 and the music is not
started at all. Setting the All option in Setup show does start the
music but after kicking off the show at slide 1 and showing slides 2 to
5 it returns to slide 1 to be kicked again and start the music from the
beginning.

I experimented with action settings on slide 5 to hyperlink it to slide
2 but unfortunately hyperlinks are bound to some object to be clicked so
it doesnt work either.

Or did I misunderstood you?

Hi,

From Slide 1, click on Slide Show, Slide Transition, make sure Advance Slide
Automatically IS NOT checked, but Advance on Mouse Click is checked. Insert
your sound file following these directions:
http://www.indezine.com/products/pow...undacross.html

Click on Slide Show, Slide Transition for slides 2 - 5 and make sure the box
for Advance Slide Automatically IS checked and the appropriate seconds are
set for each slide.

Click on Slide Show, Set Up Show, choose Presented by a Speaker (full
screen), check the box for Loop Continuosly until 'Esc, Show Slides should
be set to your Custom Show, set Advance Slides to "Using timings, if present".

That should do it.

Hi Primoz,

My Apologies. I forgot a step:

On Slide One, Create a Link that goes to the Custom Show that you created.
So, for example, On Slide One, Put 2 objects:

Object One: Start Music (with Action Settings to start music or start it
automatically)
Object Two: Start Custom Show (with Action Settings or Hyperlink to start
the Custom Show)

Under Set Up Show, Set Show Slides to All.

Sorry, thought I was forgetting something, but I couldn't remember what it
was VBG
