Default ODBC: Access 97 -> SQL Server 2000

Hi all,

I have a couple of problems (that might be one), concerning an ODBC
connection from Access 97 to SQL Server 2000

1. If I close an Access 97 database and reopen it, I can access tables
without having to enter a pw. (The box "save pw" or "use secure connection"
for that matter are both NOT checked)

2. I am using a view in the server that filters for SUser_SID (which is
stored in a varbinary(85) field in a table). Upon connecting with that view
I can see the result set (which is in my case just one record). After
quitting and restarting Access I am still not prompted for a pw (see 1.),
but the view is empty (other than the tables that are populated).

System: SQL Server 2000 SP3, MDAC 2.8, Access 97 SP2b

What else could I be trying? (I spent hours on this already...)

Thanks in advance,

Michael
