Default Exporting from Visio to Excel

My problem is when I export from Visio to an Excel spreadsheet. The field in
Excel is only accepting a portion (about 100 characters) of the field (text)
I created in Visio's custom properties box. I know that an Excel field holds
256 characters, but why when I export text not all of it is being transfered
to Excel? When I go into "modify" the Export to database" the text length
box (and decimal) is grayed out.

Maybe you can provide your steps for doing this and some information about
the version of Visio and Excel being used.
