Default picture frame changes size how do I fix to a set size?

Hi

I have picture frames of a set size set up in publisher 2003. When I right
click on a frame and select change picture from file and choose a file I
expect the picture just to fill up to the frame dimensions. However, this is
not always the case. e.g. if a picture frame is 12 x12cm and I import a file
the frame might change to 10x12cm. I am sure in Publisher 2000 the imported
file just filled up the frame. How do stop the picture frame size changing?

Try an autoshape instead, draw your square 12cm by 12cm, fill, fill effects, picture
tab. You will get distortion if the picture is not 12cm but the image will not change
the autoshape size.
Publisher 2000 did not import to just fill up the frame, the frame changed to
accommodate the image.

Mary Sauer was very recently heard to utter:

changed to accommodate the image.

IIRC you chose which one you wanted it to do. Or was that Publisher 98 and
earlier?

If you draw a picture frame 4 x 4, right-click, change picture, the picture will fit
the frame horizontally, but not vertically. (2000) It is the same in 98. In 97 or 95
a dialog comes up which asks "Change the Frame to Fit the Picture" or "Change the
Picture to Fit the Frame." If you select the latter, the image distorts big time.
