Default Outlook 2003/Hotmail Send Issue

I have been using Outlook 2003 and Outlook Connector successfully for
several years. Now, in the last few days, I cannot send any mail. So long as
my outbox is empty, the send/receive function works perfectly. However, as
soon as I try to send an email, I ge tthis error message:

Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80040126) : 'The operation cannot
be performed because the connection to the server is offline.'

Any idea what is causing the problem? I reinstalled Outlook Connector but
that did not resolve the problem.

Are you perhaps using a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook?
Disable/uninstall this integration and try again.
