Word 2003 web pages -- PDFs

I am using Word 2003 to create a web page document. The page looks fine in
Internet Explorer, but when I try to use Acrobat 6.0 to convert it to a pdf,
all of the tables lose their padding on the left side, so any left-aligned
text is flush to the table border, making it difficult to read.

When I opened the .htm document in notepad, I discovered that the
cellpadding for the tables were set to 0. Within Word, I'd had the left cell
margins set to 0.08 (I experimented with changing this value, to no effect).
I can updated cellpadding manually in notepad (and this fixed the pdf), but
any time I open the document in Word and save it, it sets the cellpadding
back to 0. I have to make frequent updates to the document, so resetting
cellpadding manually is not practical. Is there any way for me to set the
cellpadding tag from Word? Is there anything else I can do?
