Default Multi-computer upgrade

do i have to purchase an upgrade for each computer i use or can i get an
upgrade
for two computers?

Check with Microsoft - you might be able to buy two keys for one CD

Default Multi-computer upgrade

Home & Student lets you install one copy on up to three computers, used by
you or in your household and not commercially. There are other suites that
allow you to install on two "devices", one desktop and one portable. My
advice is to determine the suite that meets your requirements, and then
check the license to see whether you have to buy a second copy or not.

The EULA doesn't specify what the "primary" device is. AFAIAC if you install
on a Laptop and a Netbook you are not violating the EULA.
