Default Lines of data

I have a user who needs to put up to 25,000 lines of data in a table a year. We will be generating weekly and montly reports from this database. They have access to excel. What's the best way to deal with this size issue. I'm afraid of loading down the database and making it too big to run the reports.

Hi,

Keep in mind that a Microsoft Access database file size limit is 2 gigs
minus the system tables (Msys*).

You can try calculating the estimated size of your file. Example:

Field Name Data Type Field Size # of bytes
Field1 Text 50 50
Field2 Decimal 12
Field3 Integer 2
Field4 Long Integer 4
Field5 Single 4
Field6 Double 8

Total # of bytes per Record 80
x
Expected # of Records 25,000

Total est. file size 2,000,000 bytes

NOTE: see the Microsoft Access help topic "FieldSize Property"

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
