Default resizing group of objects not working

Sometimes (not always, for some reason) when I have a
multiple of objects selected (or a grouped, single object)
and I go to resize, not all objects within that resize at
the same rate, so it ends up looking like doo doo.

eg. I'm trying to resize a couple drawings I've
assembled of racks, servers, switches, patch panels etc.
and when enlarged, the server rack frames get garishly
thick no either side, and some of my objects don't
enlarge, some do, and I end up with a bloody mess.

What is up? What am I doing wrong? I've tried grouping
and ungrouping them. Neither has given me success.
Thanks,

Mike

Some of your shapes have "smarts" -- behaviors that help them to work very
well in certain circumstances, to behave more intelligently than just a
picture.

For instance, some of your racks may be oriented horizontally between green
dots. You can pull the green dots further apart in order to glue the rack
into a wider slot, but this doesn't change the size of the rack. In this
case, the smart behavior is cool. In your case it sucks.

Here's some ideas:

1. Change the drawing scale of the page. File Page Setup Drawing scale
tab. If the scale is 1:1, try making it 1:2, and so on.

2. Copy the whole mess, then Edit Paste Special Enhanced metafile. This
makes a "dumb" picture out of the whole mess that will resize the way you
expect. it's just that you won't be able to edit the individual components,
and you'll lose custom property data behind each component. Great for
Powerpoint, though!
