Try changing your default printer.

Thanks for your reply. No, it is not a web page, just a Publisher
document.
When I go to drop-down fonts, large areas are now blacked out. I took a
peek at the utility you recommended. I am reluctant to add it to my PC
since
this is the only problem I am having and I am trying to conserve program
space. The most popular fonts are still there, but dozens of others such
as
Brittania are now blacked out (although the missing fonts still show up in
the Fonts folder of Control Panel.

you are creating a web page in Publisher.
If this isn't the case, might do a detect and repair.
TweakUI has a font repair utility.

I just downloaded several recommended Office updates, since i just
upgraded
to FrontPage 2003 (I use Office 2000). However, several fonts have now
disappeared from my MS Publisher list. I use Publisher regularly to
publish a
weekly newsletter. Anyone know what happened to the missing fonts?
(The font
names are still shown in my Fonts folder).

I decided to reboot, and that seemed to do the trick.
Thanks.
