Im stuck in a form !!!
Can anyone help with this, im sure very simple, problem?
Im stuck in my Access data entry form and cannot enter or navigate to the next blank record. Ive checked the controls as suggested below but to no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks -------------------------- Hi John I checked the properties as you suggested. The Allow Additions was indeed set to No. However, this hasnt resolved the problem. I can only tab around my fileds in the current form, and am not able to tab to next/new record. There are only the "goto first and goto last" navigation buttons highlighted and they dont work when clicked as there is only the one record available. Any other ideas on what Im doing wrong? Thank you. mark "John Vinson" wrote: On Tue, 29 Aug 2006 07:36:02 -0700, fenrir wrote: Hi I have a simple data entry form with 4 fields. is there some reason you abandoned the thread you had going with John
Vinson? it would be courteous to post a last message to that thread, letting him know that you started a new one - otherwise he may waste time posting an answer when you've already gotten an answer on this thread. and if you intend to continue with the first thread, you shouldn't begin a new one - because others may waste time answering your question in this thread, not realizing that you've already gotten an answer in the other one. hth "fenrir" wrote in message ... Apologies if ive offended John by starting a new thread but I wanted to
ensure the issue I am having was kept at the visible end of the forum. I was not sure people bothered to read down beyond the first page. I have been checking both posts to monitor replies and will conclusively end them all if the issue is rectified, so no-one would have been wasting their time. Thanks for your help tina - oh no, thats right you didnt actually contribute, but it was fun being verbally spanked anyway! Im stuck in a form !!!
Thanks. Checked and its set to All Records, still doesnt work.
Noticed the form's record source isnt linked to any particular table, could this be causing the greyed out navigation buttons. All fields on the form are combo boxes with their contents determined by the selection made in the previous field. The fields' row sources are from the various other 5 tables. So.... Im not sure where to set the form's record source in that case, or where the record would be saved!! "Klatuu" wrote: Check the form's Cycle property. Yes, if you don't have a record source or bound controls, not much is going
to happen. "fenrir" wrote: Thanks. Checked and its set to All Records, still doesnt work.
