How do I locate, save, and reload Outlook 2000 contact files?

I need to reload Windows & software to clean-up hard drive.
Want to copy Outlook 2000 contact files on to external hard drive (borrowed
from work) and then copy these files back on to hard drive.
Where do I find the Outlook files & where do I put them back?

Thanks
