Table of contents numbering not consistent with page numbering format
How do I get a table of contents to number pages in a preliminary section
using a different format? This document has three sections: a title page section; a section containing the table of contents and table of authorities; and the main section. All sections have a different first page footer, so the first page will not have numbers. Each section starts over from the first page. The section containing the title page and table of contents is numbered in the i, ii, etc. format (small Roman numerals). The main section is numbered with arabic numbers; the title page is only a single page, so there's no number. The table of contents, however, numbers the second section (in which it is contained) with arabic numerals, not the small Roman numerals that appear in the footer. How do I get the table of contents entries designating the second section, the section containing the tables, to be numbered in the same format the numbers appear in the footer? -- Stephen R. Table of contents numbering not consistent with page numbering format
The numbers in the TOC will reflect what's on the page provided you have
used the Format Page Number command to choose i, ii, iii rather than use a \*roman switch to generate roman numerals in the PAGE field.
