.vcs files do not open
The only way I can open .vcs files, whether attached to emails or saved on
the hard disk, is to drag them directly into the outlook calendar. They do not open by double-click, or right-click open. I get the new "hourglass" for a moment, my cpu gets used, and then nothing. The following is the content of a .vcs file that does not open: (I only understand the basics of ical standards) BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Global Conference Partners//Conference Call Event//EN VERSION:1.0 BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART:20081020T143000Z DTEND:20081020T162500Z LOCATION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:FreeConference.com Conference Bridge 1-517-417-5200 UID:ad2e11a4-f74c-45d5-bfca-9ff94cce63b7 CATEGORIES;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Conference SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Conference Call: NYSDOCS EMS Project DESCRIPTION:Please Call Dial-in Number: 1-517-417-5200 (Midwest)\n\n Your Participant Access Code is: 425569.\n\n For details, click he http://www.freeconference.com\n\n Comments/Agenda:\n\n \n PRIORITY:3 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR this is what is being sent - is this an issue with content or an issue with Outlook? (keeping in mind if i browse to the folder this file is located in, then drag it to outlook's calendar the file opens without issue) I disabled antivirus and the outlook sidebar program, with no effect. Version Information: Office Outlook: 12.0.3.06.5000 BCM: 3.00.7311.00 Vista Business x86 SP1 Adobe Acrobat Standard: 8.1.0 All updates have been installed for the software listed above. |
