Fax number not showing in address book
I imported an address list from a csv file into a new contacts folder named
Suppliers. I mapped the fax number from the csv file to the Business Fax field in my Outlook "Suppliers" folder. On the face of it all looks ok, but when I open the folder as an address book I cannot see any fax numbers only email addresses. I know that if I edit the fax number in the Outlook folder then save the record, a "Business Fax" record will be created which I will then be able to select from the address book, but is there any way for the "Business Fax" record to be automatically generated on import without having to edit each individual contact? Thanks Ian |

Sounds like you imported incorrectly.
If you open one of these Contacts, is the Business Fax number resolved? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ian D McLean" wrote in message ... I can't see how I could have imported incorrectly it's fairly
straightforward. The fax number is being resolved and as I said previously if you edit the fax number then the record will appear in the address book. Fax number not showing in address book
That's my point. The import didn't work if the fax number isn't recognized
and resolved until you edit it. I can't tell you what went wrong. I wasn't there. Importing of Contact Data is never straightforward and often results in data loss or corruption, especially when done from a different file format. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Ian D McLean" wrote in message ...
