How do I TOTALLY delete a header, not just its text?
It worked. Thanks Jay I really appreciate it ! You would think the
program wouid give you the option to either turn Headings/Footers on or off... Thanks again ! "Jay Freedman" wrote: It's possible that your program's behavior isn't related to the header and footer at all. Go to the Page Layout tab and click the tiny arrow button in the title of the Page Setup group to open the dialog. Click the Layout tab. If the Vertical alignment dropdown is set to Center, that could be the cause -- set it to Top and click the Default button at the bottom of the dialog. While you're in that dialog, also check the Margins tab to see what the top and bottom margins are set to. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. I don't want any Header or Footer. How do I create a new Doc without either? p.s. I've searched the entire program and cannot find a way to do this ! But note that once an H or F3 has been created in a document, they will always be occupied by an empty paragraph: you can minimise its affect by selecting it and setting the font size to 1 pt and making sure that the Paragraph formatting has no space before, space after or line spacing set up. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Bruce Alan" Bruce wrote in message ...
