"Do you want to save..." When No Changes Were Made
Using Word 2002. When I open a document and do nothing more than scroll
through it, or click my mouse anywhere inside the document, upon closing the document Word asks "Do you want to save the changes to name of document?" even though absolutely no changes were made. This doesn't happen with all documents, only some. How do I stop this? Modem Ani |

This indicates that something is marking the document as 'dirty'. This is
usually a macro, a third party add-in or a field (such as a date field) updating on opening. -- Terry Farrell - Word MVP http://word.mvps.org/ "Modem Ani" wrote in message ... : Using Word 2002. Thanks for the info. I'll look for macros and fields, although I don't
recall creating or running any macros while working in the document. No third-party add-ins that I'm aware of. The only field I'm aware of using is page numbering. That doesn't get updated just by scrolling through the document or clicking in the document...or does it? Modem Ani "TF" terryfarrell%40%6d%73%6e%2ecom wrote in message ...
