Count IF
Hey Guys, i Want to use COUNTIF function liek this..
(Range, Criteria, [count_range] when you use count if, it will just let you do one if statement, (range, criteria). Basically i want to have it count one column based on a certain criteria, if a another column meets a an additional criteria. Basically the way the SUMIF command is set up. Thanks, -Adam |

Count IF
=sumproduct(--(a1:a10="x"),--(b1:b10="y"),(c1:c10))
Will add the values in C1:C10 only if column A is X and column B is y. Adjust the ranges to match--but you can't use whole columns (except in xl2007). =sumproduct() likes to work with numbers. The -- stuff changes trues and falses to 1's and 0's. Bob Phillips explains =sumproduct() in much more detail he http://www.xldynamic.com/source/xld.SUMPRODUCT.html And J.E. McGimpsey has some notes at: http://mcgimpsey.com/excel/formulae/doubleneg.html If you're using xl2007, you can look at =countifs() (and =sumifs()).
