Default Problem converting Publisher files to pdf

Hair tearing problem! I have an A4 page of text with a footer with page
number and line above. If I try and create a pdf file either using Adobe
Acrobat or Adobe Distiller or even going through a process of saving as a
Postscript file and then converting to pdf via Adobe I get the footer with
page number and line jump up about half an inch and attach itself to the
bottom of the text. I felt this might be something to do with incorrect page
sizes but can find nothing wrong here. Does anyone know what this might be?

'Haven't heard of this problem before. ??

Here's a couple things you might try.

Verify the pdf creating program is setup to A4 paper size.

Check to see if there are any updates to the pdf creating program.

And, you might try another pdf creating program, i.e.,

The free Primopdf www.primopdf.com

Or the one I use, PDF-XChange which has a modest price.
But, has a free try it out.

http://www.docu-track.com/downloads/users/

Their PDF-Tools is an almost must have for any pdf creating program.

Good luck on slaying the demon.

I tried to duplicate this, but could not. What version Acrobat are you using?
Have you tried changing the footer location on the Master Page? Drag it down
below the page guide.

Many thanks

I have a little more to add -= something which gets round the problem, I
think!

First of all I've checked the paper settings and they are OK

Next I have found that if I try and create a PS file (file|print|Generic
color PS for commercial printing) and the footer jumps up the best thing to
do is to let it then reset the footer to the correct place in publisher and
re-save while the print option is set to Generic PS print to file. After
that the program will let me create a ps and Acrobat file OK. I wonder if
that makes sense or is clear? It does work!

Acrobat version is 7.0

I will also try altering the footer location.

Many thanks
