view page number in full screen view
How do I insert a page number that will clearly show in full screen view
(Word 2002)? I followed the instructions to position page numbers outside the header/footer, but it still shows them in light gray, as they are still tied to the header/footer. Thanks! |

I don't think you can change this behavior in Word. The grey appearance is a visualization of the fact that what you see there is part of the header or footer. But you can switch to a different view: Use Print Preview and everything is shown as it will print. You can edit in there, too ("de-click" the Magnifier), and if you wish, you can use the full screen mode there as well.
