Not Enough System Resources to Display Completely
I have a spreadsheet with several drop down menus. Depending upon the
screen resolution and/or Percent Zoom, I may get a "Not Enough System Resources to Display Completely" error when I try to access the drop down menu. At a screen resolution of 1280 by 1024 pixels and a Percent Zoom of 75% in Excel (or higher), I can access all the drop down menus without any problems. If I try decreasing the percent zoom or decreasing the screen resolution, I start getting the "Not Enough System Resources to Display Completely" error messages. I want to distribute this spreadsheet to other people, so it's important that I understand what is going on. Can anybody point me in a direction here ? Thanks in advance ! --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Not Enough System Resources to Display Completely
Amazing how a little creative use of the search function will help
someone answer their own question ! Turns out this is a bug in Excel. Info from a previous post (http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...em +resources) is below. Hope this helps someone else. Rw. ------------------- thessels wrote: *Hi there, I also encountered this problem, with a combobox filled with data coming from another worksheet. This seems to be an old Excel-bug, already known in Excel-95 and 97, but I find it in Excel 2k too, working with W2k. It has to do with the combination of using a combobox, using links to another worksheet, and not having the same zoom-settings! Set zoom to 100% and the problem is solved. See Microsoft Knowledge Base KB183503 at http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;183503 for details. Thijs. * --- Message posted from http://www.ExcelForum.com/ |

Not Enough System Resources to Display Completely
Glad you found an acceptable answer.
I would really suggest searching Google Groups to search the real newsgroups themselves rather than just questions that were started at ExcelForum and answered mostly in actual newsgroups. Personally I find placing newsgroup type of forums on web pages disorienting for real web searches. If I want to search newsgroups I'd rather search newsgroups for a hint of what I want, and for like late breaking details, but web pages for an organized presentation. Hopefully the web search engines will be improved to be able to choose whether one really wants to include message group type of sites at all, or whether to include blogs, and whether or not to include dictionaries, or other word lists.. . Currently if I do a search with 5 keywords if pulls up a web page with 25 unrelated threads at ExcelTips or ExcelForum and none of those threads come even close to what I am looking for, but together they have all of the keywords. I could not load your page (active-x), it appeared to get stuck and I'm not waiting to see if it would actually load if I hit F5 after waiting and waiting. But I see from the rest of your post that it referred to an actual MS KB article, so I figure you did well this time. Anyway to search newsgroups directly would in my opinion be a wiser choice.
