Object or class does not support the set of evets
Hi,
Few days ago I run into a strange situation. I've developed a small new application with ms Access 2003. I've just wrote tables and basic forms - subforms. They were tested and they work fine. However, when I tried to put a button on the parent form I start to observe a strange behavior: nothing work anymore. Even a click on an empty sub triggers this error : "Object or class does not support the set of events". The connection between the form and the sbform fall down and Access crashs systematic Please note that recently I set up automatic update on my XP sp3 machine and I have A2000 and A2003 on my machine. The same behavior is in both versions. Thank you for any ideea. -- Silver Bog |

The same behavior is in both versions. Thank you for any ideea. If this is in a single database file, it is probably corrupt. Try the following: First, always work on a copy of the database. Working on the original may make it impossible for a repair service to fix it. Decompile your database: http://www.trigeminal.com/usenet/usenet004.asp Download a copy of JetComp.exe: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;273956 Try backing up your forms as text with the undocumented SaveAsText LoadFromText functions: http://www.datastrat.com/Code/DocDatabase.txt Also have a look at the Microsoft KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;209137 Then have a look at Tony Toews' Access Corruption FAQ at: http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/corruptmdbs.htm for some suggestions. Unfortunately, some corruption cannot be fixed - you may need to create a new database, import what can be salvaged, and recreate the rest. Although it's a paid service, Peter Miller does an outstanding job of saving corrupt databases. Arvin, thank you for your response.
I will look to the links you sent me. Anyway, after I wrote my first post and before having your first response, I made another test. I create a new database with only one form and no table or anything else inside. On this form I put just a Button with an msgbox command and ... big surprise .... it doesn't work and I got the same error message! If I put only: Private Sub Comanda0_Click() End Sub and click the button there is no error but Private Sub Comanda0_Click() msgbox "test" End Sub this time I get the error. I suppose the problem came with XP SP3 or MsOffice SP3. -- Regards, Silver Bog |
