microsoft.public.access.tablesdbdesign

Do you mean it cant be done in MsAccess

if not

why is that there is no code to create/update neatedset in a VB/MS
ACCESS environment. i

can see all posts with SQL server syntax only.

I don't think anyone said it can't be done in Access (although I never
understood why nested sets were better or desirable; but I also accept
that's my problem, not the idea's).

What SQL have you seen?- there is very little that does not run on Jet/DAO
and even less that does not run over ADO.

Default Nested set with VB6/MS-Access

from what i "gathered"

Nested sets once created (still ignorant about that) can be retrive
the hierarchy very easily.

ie find any parent with all its children / or all its parents.

Normal adjacency list table cannot retrieve this (unlimited hierarchy)
in Ms Access ,but

only through Application lang.coding.
