Default How do I set up Word to read Works files?

A client has sent me a .wps file created in Works. When I try to load the
file, I get messages that various converters can't be loaded. I have
installed Office XP SB (both disks) and have run detect & repair. The icon
for the file recognizes that it is a Word-compatible file but it will not
load. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you know what version of Works was used to create the file you received?
Although all Works word processing files have a .wps extension, they actually
have different formats depending on the Works version. Office XP includes a
Works 7.0 .wps converter on the CD. You can download the Works 6.0 converter
from http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318244.
