OneNote "upgrading" documents from earlier BETAs wouldn't be fully supported
(which includes "dirtying" it). It was recommended against storing important

Just a suggestion - I would have thought that re-registering the dll from
its current default location would have worked as well, and might make
things simpler if you need to uninstall that printer later?

In general, you would be better off using the legacy formats, but relying on the beta for business/mission level documents is still
a risk not recommended by Microsoft for most folks.

If a legacy file created from Office 2007 betas does not reopen in a legacy version of Office or a newer version of Office 2007 beta
then that would be a bug. (It could have been a bug in the 'save as' portion of the older beta, but still a bug).

Correct. The majority of the issues that have been encountered are
from files created pre-Beta 2.

Note that those who had Office 2007 prior to Beta 2 were official beta
testers and they were explicitly told files created in the early beta
releases may not be accessible in later releases. I have a few files
I'm unable to open as well but I also saved the important files in the
Word 97 - 2003 format.

If you just used the Save command won't necessarily change the format.
I modify the file a bit, like Suzanne noted, add a space and delete
it, and then use Save As.

Double-click a ribbon tab or press ctrl-f1. That will minimize the
ribbon (it stays minimized). You can then use it via single-clicking a
tab. It will then only hover over your document and disappear similar to
a menu again. Toggle the behavior via ctrl-f1 or double-clicking a tab
again.
