Menu to select output Help
My company has various equipment units (P141, P142......), these units have
different size cases (40TE, 60TE, 80TE). We have an approvals process that clasifys the equipment in a certian combination (P141 in a 40TE case), that combination gives it a U/L approval, other combinations do not give that approval. So those are my inputs, what I would like as an output is to have some sort of menu to select 1. A Unit, then 2. A Case, this will then show whether that combination is U/L approved. I have tblCase, tblUnit, and a relationship from both to tblProduct than includes UL. (Hope that makes sense) It sounds simple to you guys Im sure, but do not have the knowledge to get the output! My final goal after this one is to add a third, and fourth criteria. Within the unit to select a board (again only some boards have U/L approval), and then down to component (again only some components have U/L approval). Again with the output dependant on what I select from the drop down menu 1.Unit, 2. Case, 3. Board, 4. Component. Im sure this thread has made many people laugh, but I need some guidance. |

Who said I was laughing! We all have to start somewhere. What you are probably looking for is a "cascading combo". There are plenty of queries on this and it may give you a good start on how to proceed. Think carefully how you design the tables and relationships. Thanks scubadiver. It seems a common question, so will search under
'cascading combo', would have never know that on my own. Thanks! Any other help for a newbie would be very much appreciated! "scubadiver" wrote: Who said I was laughing!
