Default Search function in contacts doesn't work

When I do a search in my outlook (2003) contacts, it doesn't find anything.
when I do a search for something I can actually see, it still doens't work.
Is there something I need to enable for the search to work in contacts
(search works for emails).

Thanks.

Requires that your Outlook Address Book Service be installed and configured
in your profile.
