Default Stop autostyle update in tables

Every time I make a format change in a table cell, it changes the format in
every cell. How do I stop that?

What version of Word? Assuming Word 2003... Click in an affected cell and
choose Format - Styles and Formatting. Under Formatting of Selected Text,
right-click the applied style and choose Modify Style. In Modify Style,
remove the check next to Automatically Update.

Thank you. 2003 is correct. After seeing the same effect on a general doc, I
stumbled on to the same answer. That setting has always been off, and I
believe it was turned on by receipt of another doc.
