Switching from XP home to pro
I know this is a very basic question, but here goes:
I have an HP desktop that came with XP home installed. I have used it for a year, but now want to switch to XP PRO. Can I simply put in the PRO discs, or is it more complicated than that--do i have to reformat or anything? (and will I lose information--music, ppts, word docs, emails--when I do it?) -- Thanks, s |

PLEASE do it from scratch. Back up everything! Documents, address books,
music, pictures, EVERYTHING. Reformat your system and start from a bare system. I've heard so many people complain that they just upgraded over their existing OS and had various problems. You don't need the aggravation. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Publisher "swear" wrote: I know this is a very basic question, but here goes: I have an HP desktop that came with XP home installed.
