Default pop-up at startup saying microsoft powerepoint need to close

Everytime I log onto my computer I get a menu that pops up and says that

"Microsoft Office Powerpoint has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience" It also has a box that can be unchecked
that says restart powerpoint and it also lets me send an error report to
Microsoft as well. I have let the check stay and let it open and I have
also unchecked the box at different start-ups. Neither made it go away at
the next startup.

I have no idea why this keeps happening at startup. Powerpoint isn't in my
startup menu and I am able to go to Powerpoint (2003) and open it fine
sometimes. Sometimes when I try to open it is says that it needs to open in
safe mode which I am not sure why. I have done a search using "startup" to
see if there are any powerpoint files hanging in another startup file and
there isn't.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of that pop-up at startup?

When the error pops up, click details on the error report, what does it say?

Try checking the registry:
Start
Run
regedit.

Then go to:
Hkey_current_user
Software
Microsoft
Windows
Current version
RunOnce or the Run folders. Sometimes programs like to put things into that
folder.

There is a whole report theat means nothing to me but it has the following
signature summary at top which I don't know what that means either. Do you?

AppName: powerpnt.exe AppVer: 11.0.5529.0 AppStamp:3f281ac3
ModName: asfaddin.dll ModVer: 3.0.0.2700 ModStamp:357d79e0
fDebug: 0 Offset: 00001c32v

Hi Celia - I have exactly the same problem. Did you ever get it sorted?
If so, what did you do?
