Default programme Not responding to Open or save - ideas

Started behaving like this suddenly. I've loaded the updates, unistalled
Office XP small business, re-installed and added the updates again. No
solution. Can open a document through MS explorer but can't save. Won't let
me open folders.

Likewise! My Office Professional edition 2003 has started behaving the same
way. I can not open, create any folders in any of the applications.
Application stops responding and the error message is always hungapp. I can
open my files via MS windows expplorer.

I have run virus checker, MS spyware, etc, etc and nothing is found. Can
any one help?

MS Office freezing during "Open" or "Save as" is often caused by unused or
dissconnected mapped network drives. Simply unmap these drives and Office
should work fine.

DO NOT change registry or uninstall Office. As Dave Peterson wrote in "Excel
and Word Hang Up..." a quick and simple fix can be found at
http://www.techweb.com/wire/security/185303742. Don't know how it works but
it
does. Page two of the article gives a link to "Kellys Korner" for the fix. It
worked perfectly.

Karl, I tried the site, but the message was that it could not be found. I am
having the same problems as the others with both word and excel. Would you
have a copy of the fix? Shaney

What is necessary to add that 5 letter word at the end to complete
the sentence? Did it add anything to what you were trying to
convey?
