Outlook Can't find my ip!!
I recently installed Office 2007. I'm using Vista home premium and it'd up
to date. When I try to open outlook, it says it needs to connect to my provider and asks for my user name and password. It then hunts for the connection and finally gives up! What's the problem! I go to the provider all the time to field junk mail, so there's no question about getting it right. A second question. Even after configuring Outlook, I intend to use Mail. Will I have the chance to designate the default mail client? -- Alan Zengel |

Outlook Can't find my ip!!
Yes, you can use Windows Mail (component of Vista) or Microsoft Outlook and
specify which is to be the default. However I have found that once you start using Microsoft Outlook, you will stop using Windows Mail. Not exactly sure what to think of "can't find my ip". The first thought that came to my mind was that you might have a 3rd party firewall program installed that is blocking Microsoft Outlook from accessing the internet. Perhaps if you mention what ISP is handling mail chores for you (e.g. GMail, Hotmail, Comcast, RoadRunner, .etc), someone might be able to point you in the right direction to verify that you setup the account properties in Outlook correctly.
