Word 2002 freezes when online

While I'm online (through AOL 9.0 Optimized) I can't open the Word program or
open a Word document in an email - it freezes as a square box that doesn't go
away. I can continue doing other online stuff, but after I sign off that box
is there and the computer won't shut down until I turn off the power strip.
(After similar problems with Adobe Reader it turned out to be an ISP
shortfall which was fixed when I followed Adobe's recommendation.) I can't
find any fix listed for this problem with Word. This is a pain when I want to
copy & paste from a Word doc or just read an attahment...

I am experiencing a similar problem. I use Comcast and I am unable to cut
and paste anything online into a Word document without freeze-up. The
computer then will not shut down without pressing the power button. I have
been unable to find a solution to this problem by browsing through Microsoft
troubleshooting information.
