Form not accepting new record
I am using Access 2000
I created a Db, forms and reports early this year. Through out the year, I edited records and added new records using a form I created. Then yesterday, I decided to try and put a password to the Db to eliminate anyone not authorized from getting into the Db. It took sometime but i finally got it to work. I made sure the Db was set for exclusive use (I did this through Tools, Options, Advanced). It was already set for exclusive use. Then I set the password through Tools, Security, Set Db password. I opened and closed the file several times and everything seem to be fine. I was asked for the password and when I typed it in correctly the Db opened. Then I entered a new record using the form. Everything went in just fine. Then I ran a label report. All the labels were correct except for the new record I entered. The city was missing. So I went back to the form to see why but could not pull up the record. The record could not be found. Then I went directly to the table associated with the form and the record was there. It was record #29. I went back to the form and tried to pull up the record again but again it could not be found. The form shows only 28 records. I took off the password and tried again but again it did not work. I even went into the Table and deleted the new record #29 and entered it in again using the form. But still the new record could not be found even though it is in the table. Does anyone have any idea of what I could have done to create this mess? It has me stumped. Aurora |

Form not accepting new record
Can you see the record in the query upon which the form is based?

Form not accepting new record
Thank you Rick. I checked the query and somehow a 2nd Db was connected to
the original Db, and that should not have been. I don't know how I did that, but when I deleted the 2nd Db and made a few other minor changes everything appears to be OK again. Thank you again for your help. Aurora "Rick B" wrote: Can you see the record in the query upon which the form is based? -- Rick B "Aurora" wrote in message ...
