Default String to query in a combo box

I have one combo box called shift and a field called locat. I have another
box called assignment. What I want to do is take the value from the locat
field and have it use that information in the query of the assignment combo
box separate the information.
For example: The information in the shift combo is "A-days", "B-days",
Support Services" and others. The information in the assignment box has to do
with the different positions. Another example: Just like folders and files. I
have folders called shift. I have files called assignment. I want all the
folders filled with proper files.

I hope I've explained my self. I've had trouble replying to questions. Don't
know if it's on my end or the web.

Thanks.
