how to stop graphics jumping around
Hi all,
Have a table, used at a school by teachers to put tick marks along a range of student behaviour. Table is 4 columns wide Column 1 header is student name, column 2 header is "usually" column 3 header is "usually" column 4 header is "seldon". So if we go to row 1 and we see the student is John Doe, we now have to put a tick mark under the appropriate heading, but it will vary whether it is aligned left, centre, right, or even right on the line, depending on the student. ie it does not go in the center of the box (or whatever). Most of the people who use this are not that computer savvy so what I have now is a graphic of a tick mark at every student and they just use the arrows to move the graphic along to the appropriate spot. What is bugging me is the graphic does not just move in a straight line. It may do so across the first cell, then jump up (or wherever) when it moves to the next cell. It is driving me nuts. How can I do this or what setting do I need to change so I can get a graphic of a tick mark to move on top of a table without it leaping around as it moves from one cell to another. Help! Thanks, Lauren |

how to stop graphics jumping around
You might want to use checkboxes from the Forms toolbar or from the Fax
template instead of the tick marks you are using. There are a number of ways to handle checkboxes in documents / templates. Take a look at the Checkbox template available at http://addbalance.com/word/download.htm for an exploration of these. For more about online forms, follow the links at http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...nTheBlanks.htm especially Dian Chapman's series of articles.
