When excels first opens..

how do you get the window with the list of current files and the other options (such as 'new') to be open when you get in there. Mine flashes for a second the Book1 opens and that's it. I am running on Microsoft Office XP.

workbook (so it runs whenever you open excel):

But Jim Rech has posted this registry tweak (only if you're comfortable with
messing with the windows registry):

Add the Dword item "DoNotDismissFileNewTaskPane" under
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\C ommon\General and assign
it the value 1.
