copying Contacts from one drive to another (without exporting!)
The Windows XP installation on my hard drive has become corrupt...can't even
go into safe mode. I have installed XP on a brand new drive. I am in the process of copying my documents and other files from the old drive to DVD backup. (Next step will be to try to fix 1st install to save hassle of reinstalling software.) I would like to copy information in my Contacts folder in Outlook 2000. I do not use Outlook for e-mail....just for Contacts. Which set of files do I need to copy to the DVD to ensure I have a good backup in case the Windows XP reinstalltion on the first drive goes back and I'm forced to reintall all software on the new drive? Thanks in advance for your help |

The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored. Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer: http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/as...771141033.aspx -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Pacoinmass" wrote in message ... Russ,
Thanks for the links. I successfully copied my old .pst file to the new drive.
