Fax - Delivery Notification

I have a SBS 2003 server with XP Professional SP2 PCs running Outlook 2003.

I installed the Fax Service using SBS. SMTP email receipts are configured
via Microsoft Fax Service Manager.

On two PCs I manually installed the fax service via Add Network Printer -
these both receive Delivery Notification to faxes sent via Outlook. Two other
PCs successfully send faxes via Outlook but do not receive Receipts.

Has anyone any ideas as to what settings I should check?

Not really, only that this is an SBS Fax issue, not an Outlook issue. You
might find someone who would know in an SBS group.

I have had no luck with the SBS group or any other...

I can get notifications to work for other users on the two machines where I
have the problem. I removed a user with the problem, deleted all their
Settings and then re-installed them. The problem is still there!

I stop all Exchange server AV and Spam services and still no luck.

Has anybody any ideas???

I have now confirmed that the problem relates to Outlook and not the SBS Fax
Service.

The issue is that the two users who do not receive notifications have
defined in Outlook some POP3 email accounts in addition to their Exchange
account and Fax Mail Transport. Their Exchange account is defined as their
default account. Despite this messages sent to the Fax Service show as being
sent from one of the POP3 accounts. If I select the Fax Mail Transport as the
sending account then they receive receipts.

If there anyway to define the notification address for messages sent using
the Fax Mail Transport?

This has been a problem with Outlook for as long as its existed. Fax Mail
Transport and Exchange do not work well in the same profile.
I know of no solution. And with the total abandonment of Fax issues in
Outlook, none is likely to be forthcoming.
