Invalid Product Key

My trial of Office Outlook ended yesterday so I downloaded the full product
from the MS site and paid for it. It gave me a product key but when I follow
the activate process in Outlook it says " the key is incorrect". I cut and
paste the number from the invoice Microsoft sent via email when I purchased.
I can't send any emails as it is still saying it is the trial product.

Did you fully uninstall the trial first and installed the full product
instead?
