How did you import them and from what file type?
In which view can you not see them?

It's an excel file and I followed Microsoft directions for importing. Or so
I thought. I just transfered files from one machine to another. I cannot
see them in any view. It's a blank grid. Three new entries I entered are
there.

Know that you are dealing with a computer user who has learned everything by
osmosis, no formal training.

Thanks for the questions.

You need to post your Outlook version, Excel version and the exact steps you
used. "I followed Microsoft directions" tells us nothing. Can you imagine
how many "Microsoft directions" there are? We have no idea which you used
nor how accurately you followed them. After that, someone familiar with
importing from Excel can help you. Personally, I avoid doing so at all
costs.

That begs the questions why you had your contacts in an Excel file and why
you used an Excel file to transfer the contacts from one machine to another.

I have a similar problem. I am trying to coordinate contacts for 4 people in
my office and make sure that everyone has updated and shared contacts. My
problem is that one person uses Entourage. I thought that it would be easiest
to fix the duplicates and give everyone the same contacts by exporting them
from each computer into a single excel file, remove the duplicates and then
import the contacts back into outlook and import them back into Entourage as
a CSV file. But now there are contacts missing in both Outlook and Entourage.
We all have Microsoft Office 2007 and run outlook through our parallels
desktop. Thanks for the help.

Brian, i had transferred the files via an external hard drive, but when the files didn't show up, i tried importing them into outlook again via the excel file stored in my documents folder. still doesn't work.
