Default Sharing Contacts with IMAP accounts?

Is there a way to share Contacts among users who all have IMAP e-mail
accounts? All the Help flies we've seen seem to talk about setting up Shared
Contacts with Exchange accounts, and our users don't even seem to have the
options available that the Help files talk about. We are also using Oracle
Connector for Outlook (we are using an Oracle Calendar server, which synchs
with Outlook Calendar), and can't seem to find anything from Oracle on this
issue, either. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

IMAP protocols handle mail only. IMAP has no concept of "contacts" or
anything else that's not mail.
