Default root "Contacts" folder doesn't appear in Outlook Navigation pane

Only sub-folders for "Contacts" appear in my Outlook desktop.
I don't know why I can't see the root Contacts folder.
When I search for contact names and choose folders to search in the root
"Contacts" folder is an option for my search, so I know it is there.
Any suggestions?

No information here. State your Outlook version and view at a minimum.
