Migrating from MS Office 2003 Pro to 2007 Pro
I had purchased and worked with OEM MS Office Pro 2003 for more than 5.5
years with minimal problems. I had even downloaded and installed the many upgrades during these years. Several months ago I purchased an OEM MS Office Pro 2007. I wish to replace the 2003 with the 2007. Would it be necessary to uninstall 2003 before installing 2007? My second question concerns with Office validation. Recently, I am experiencing a problem with 2003 of not being, as Microsoft calls it, "Genuine". I believe both of my Office purchases are legal; however, if 2007 is not legal, would the installation of 2007 fails? And ultimately I have no Office at all! My third question is about ActiveX. Microsoft offers victims, who unknownly purchased illegal Office software, an opportunity to replace their existing one with Office Pro 2007 for free by completing a form and submit it to Microsoft for review and approval. When I completed the form and submitted it, my IE browser indicated that it cannot do so because something about ActiveX of not having any controls. Is this ActiveX problem part of the "Genuine" problem or is it a separate issue? I appreciate your inputs. Andrew |
