Microsoft Word maximizes improperly when Outlook is running
This is a problem that only seems to occur after I have
written at least one e-mail message. If Outlook is running when I open Word, then Word appears about two inches down the screen. The minimize/maximize button shows it as being maximized. It's as though the screen coordinates are off somehow. I've created a screen shot that shows what I'm talking about and uploaded it to my web site. The picture is at: http://www.irenesmith.com/images/weird_word.jpg Anybody else experiencing this problem with either Word or some other application? If so, is there anything I can do about it? As you can see from the picture, there is not scroll bar so the bottom of the application window is inaccessible. Irene Smith |

Microsoft Word maximizes improperly when Outlook is running
Hi Irene,
The position of the Word window is stored in the Word\Data key in the Registry. You might try recreating it to see if it resolves the issue. Exit Word and Outlook and in the Registry navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\W ord\Data and rename the Data key. As always, prior to making any changes to the Registry you should review "Backing up the Registry" and "Restoring the Registry" in the Registry Help. In this situation you may want to use the Registry/Export Registry file command, export your selected branch, and delete the key. That way if you find the change wasn't necessary or incorrect, you can merge the deleted branch back to the Registry by double-clicking the resulting file. -- Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup.
