Hiya,
I have a cell which is a date format, and i need to change it to text format. however when i do this by changing the category in the format cells menu an underlying number is displayed instead of the actual date. Basically i want the cell to look the say (i.e have dd/mm/yyyy) but to be a general or text type as oppossed to a date type thanks for your help cheers! |

Hi
AFAIK you can't change it in the cell without first using a formula to convert it to text =TEXT(A1,"dd/mm/yyyy") & then copy - pasting special, values back over the original cell cheers JulieD "confused" wrote in message ...
