MSI Installer keeps popping up in PowerPoint after Office 2003 ins
Every time I open PowerPoint 2003, the msi installer runs and says it is
configuring Office 2003 setup. I can cancel the message and go straight into PowerPoint, but it is annoying that this keeps popping up. I ran detect and repair on Office and that did not solve the problem. I also uninstalled PowerPoint. None of the other Office programs have this problem, but I did not when I opened Outlook, the installer config dialog box came up but disappeared quickly. Could this actually be a problem with the MSI installer? I also noticed when I open PowerPoint, the msi installer (msiexec.exe) has two processes running; one as system and one as the logged on user. When I close PowerPoint, msiexec.exe closes as the logged on user, but the process logged as system continues to run. I terminated the process and opened PowerPoint again, but I still received the configuration dialog box. I previously had Office XP installed, but I completely removed that before installing 2003. Any ideas??? I am stuck on this one. |
